ACT OF ORGANIZATION OF A NEW CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE

(Call Charter Members to come forward and stand at the Altar)

1.  It is an honor and a privilege to be a part of this moment…the Birth of a New Church of the Nazarene.

2.  I commend you for your Faith, your Labors, your Efforts, your Desires and your Response to being a part of this
     New Church.

3.  I Charge you to:
    a.  Be diligent and faithful, week after week in prayer, attendance, service and giving.
    b.  Be true to the Mission of Christ and the church…make disciples…make Nazarenes…
         develop and nurture Christians.
    c.  Serve God and the Church with vision and compassion.  Ever widen your circle of concern and outreach.
    d.  Remember you are a part of the total Church…Zone…District…General…around the world.  You are a
         part of a great family.
    e.  Remember what we do is for Christ and the Kingdom.

4.  Act of Organization:
This is a memorable moment.  A Church is about to be born.  That which was not is giving way to that which is to be A New Church.

This is God’s work…and we are a part of it.  Some of you who stand before me are already Nazarenes.  You have pledge your Church vows.  You are members in good standing and, at your request; your Letter of Transfer will be received.  Others of you will pledge the vows of membership in a few moments.  Thus, we can organize this church today.

There are some basic questions every Nazarene should consider and agree to:
1.  Do you heartily believe the doctrines which the Church holds as essential to Christian experience as set forth
     in the Manual of the church of the Nazarene?  If so, answer, “I Do.”
2.  (Remainder of Vows from the Manual)

Having heard you repeat these vows and the affirmation of your faith, you will now be welcomed into the _________________ Church of the Nazarene, which is hereby declared officially organized.

(Hand out certificates and welcome each with the pastor.)

By the authority given me by the Manual of the church of the Nazarene, I hereby appoint ________________ as the pastor of this New Church of the Nazarene.  I further authorize a Church Meeting to be called to elect its officers and Board Members in accordance with the provisions of the Manual of the Church of the Nazarene.
